A Little More About Annette

Annette Mitchell is a dedicated public servant and long-time resident of Orange Beach, Alabama. She has served faithfully on the Orange Beach City Council since August 2014 and held the role of Mayor Pro Tem through 2020. With a strong background in business and finance, Annette brings decades of leadership experience, community involvement, and proven integrity to local government.
Before entering public service, Annette co-owned a successful Chevrolet and Toyota dealership with her late husband, building a reputation for honest business practices and strong customer relationships. After relocating to Orange Beach in 2000, she quickly became an active and respected member of the community.
Annette has served on several important boards and committees, including the Orange Beach Finance Committee, Planning Commission, Gulf Coast Healthcare Authority, and the Business Advisory Board. Her attention to fiscal responsibility and strategic planning has earned the respect of her colleagues and the trust of residents.
Outside of government, Annette has volunteered as a reading coach at Orange Beach Elementary and has been an active member of the Orange Beach Garden Club and the Sirens of the Sea Mardi Gras Krewe. She supports programs that enhance education, public safety, youth development, and the arts.
Annette is now running for City Council Place 2 in the upcoming August 2025 election. Her campaign is focused on preserving the values that make Orange Beach a special place to live—safety, transparency, responsible growth, and a strong sense of community. She believes in protecting the quality of life for residents while welcoming the economic benefits of thoughtful tourism and development.
Faith, family, and service are the foundations of Annette’s life. She is a proud member of St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church and is committed to continuing her work to keep Orange Beach strong, secure, and united.
